The Music Weeks in March attract some of the best classical ensembles, soloists and conductors in Europe; opera, a symphonic orchestra and a theatre can be enjoyed in other times. However, if they are not your scene, there’s always café-life or the sights. Before you reach Ruse, the gorges of the Rusenski Lom River hold three sets of medieval Bulgarian ruins: the Rock Monastery of Ivanovo, the Rock Monastery of Besarbovo, and the Medieval Fortress of Cherven.
This village has a great location and it can be the starting point for short or longer trips to the Balkan Mountains, the Danube River and further to Romania, or the seaside as the distance is about 250 km.
