The Taukliman Nature Reserve, also known as the Bird Bay, is located nearly 15 km. eastern of the town of Kavarna and 60 km. away from Varna. The area has a number of small picturesque beaches, warm mineral springs, and tiny rocky islands. According to some researches, the region was inhabited since a long time ago. The Touzlata Locality, outlying as near as 4 km. to the town of Balchik, is set up south-western of Taukliman, right next to the beach itself.
